ADAM LANGSTON, DVM

Dr. Adam Langston is a doctor of veterinary medicine with over nineteen years of veterinary experience. He grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and spent much of his childhood in the waters of the Ohio River where he discovered his love of sailing and all things outdoors alongside his adored chocolate Labrador retriever, Tess.

Dr. Langston graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Sciences. He then attended Auburn University where he received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Upon graduation, he returned to his home state of Kentucky where he worked for the next four years in a thriving Georgetown practice alongside renowned veterinarians known for their unparalleled medical care of both large and small animals (cattle, horses, dogs, cats, goats, etc.). Here he gained extensive experience in orthopedics, surgical procedures and reproductive processes.

In 2006, Dr. Langston and his family moved to the Alabama Gulf Coast, where he quickly became known for his diagnostic abilities, surgical skills, and management of complex medical cases. Dr. Langston continued to work in private medical practices providing unparalleled veterinary care to all types of animals with a particular interest in small breeds and exotics for the next thirteen years. He most recently was appointed the Interim Director of the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo and has opened a veterinary clinic in Gulf Shores, Alabama with his wife, Niesje Langston, DVM.

Dr. Adam Langston has considerable knowledge with a variety of specialized procedures including surgical inseminations, transcervical inseminations, colour Doppler abdominal ultrasound, ultrasound-guided biopsy, medial patellar ligament repair, fracture repair, ruptured cranial crucial ligament surgery, penile urethrostomy surgery, femoral head/neck osteotomy, liver lobectomy, endoscopy, and biopsies.

When not overseeing the happenings at the hospital or caring for patients, he enjoys sailing with his family onboard their 42’ Pearson the “On Call.” Dr. Langston’s nautical expertise has occasionally taken him to destinations as far away as Cuba, but most often you will find him close to “home” navigating the beautiful local waters of Baldwin County.

NIESJE LANGSTON, DVM

Dr. Niesje Langston is an accomplished doctor of veterinary medicine with twenty years of veterinary experience. She grew up in Danville, Kentucky, on her family’s farm where she loved working outdoors alongside her parents and caring for all of their animals.

Dr. Langston studied Animal Sciences at the University of Kentucky. She then attended Auburn University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1999. After practicing for six years in a full-service veterinary clinic in Versailles, Kentucky, she decided to make the Gulf Coast of Alabama her home. Dr. Langston practiced veterinary medicine at private medical practices treating all breeds of companion animals, as well as, consulting with various practices throughout the region before opening her clinic in Gulf Shores, Alabama alongside her husband, Adam
Langston, DVM.

Dr. Langston has considerable knowledge of surgical and diagnostic procedures. Her clinical interests include internal medicine, gastrointestinal diseases, dermatological disorders, immunocompromised conditions, and dental health. She is known for her natural ability to provide compassionate patient care while simultaneously helping owners navigate their pet’s condition in a way that best fits their lifestyles. She has extensive experience in preventative medicine, senior health, and enjoys caring for patients with multiple ailments to balance.

When not overseeing the happenings at the hospital or caring for patients, Dr. Niesje Langston treasures spending time with her family – attending their soccer games, fishing, and sailing together. She also enjoys biking, cooking, and going to the beach.
